One of the greatest aspects of sex is being able to try new things with your partner: the thrill of discovering new sensations and being able to share them with someone in such an intimate way is an aphrodisiac in its own way. It is unlikely that either of you will have tried the Dolphin position before. Detailed in the Kama Sutra, the Dolphin position requires a high level of flexibility, so a few stretches are advised before taking this one on.
How to Do it:
She lies on her back on the bed, and he stands at her feet. He grabs her hips and raises them all the way up to his, whilst she puts all of her weight on her shoulders, neck and the back of her head. Holding the weight of her lower body by the hips, he slowly enters her.
This position puts a great deal of pressure on the anterior vaginal wall, and possibly the G-Spot if positioned right. The excitement of the position plus the tensed muscles required of both him and her will mean that you both reach climax very swiftly.
The disadvantage of this position is that it can be incredibly difficult to achieve, and even more difficult to maintain. Even if he has the required upper body strength, he will find it difficult to keep going for too long. Additionally, with her being more or less upside down for a prolonged amount of time, she could feel dizzy. Besides, her neck takes a lot of pressure in this one, which might cause pain. If you feel uncomfortable, then try something else, or take a break.
For when the head-rush gets a bit too much, the Deck Chair position provides the same obtuse angle of entry but with both your weights being firmly set on the bed. She lies on her back and he sits directly in front of her, with his legs laid flat on either side of her body. He then takes her legs and rests them on his chest whilst entering her, then leaning back to achieve the desired angles.
The Catherine Wheel
Can there be anything sexier (or kinkier) than a position named after a medieval torture device? This position is not as physically challenging as The Dolphin is, but it allows you to get a lot more athletic. This position will take some practice before you can include it into your sex life. This position allows for G-Spot stimulation as the penis will be pushed up against the anterior vaginal wall, and the way the two are locked together, it facilitates prolonged deep penetration.
How to Do it:
First, sit opposite each other on the bed, and then she wraps her legs around his waist, drawing them tighter until she’s in a position where he can penetrate her. Both lean back and he swings his leg over her waist, his foot resting on his other thigh. He rests on his elbow for balance and to anchor momentum.
This position puts a lot of pressure on already tensed and tightened areas, guaranteeing pleasure for both him and her. The fact they are locked together ensures that penetration is long and deep, but can still be fast and energetic. Additionally, when she lays back she should have both hands free to touch herself or stimulate the clitoris.
This does take some practice to get right because of the complicated process to get into it, and until you’re well practiced the process can feel a bit like assembling flat pack furniture. It can get frustrating to have sex if you haven’t positioned yourself correctly. Not getting the form right can kill the mood and make one or both partners feel awkward.
She sits on a surface at about waist height and spreads her legs for him to enter her. Once he is in, she wraps her legs around his waist, tight so her heels meet at the backs of his thighs. This position is more straight forward, and feels a bit less like origami. It offers prolonged, deep penetration and having his feet on the ground allows for fast, energetic sex. There is less awkwardness and assembly, too!
